As part of our fall wellness day elementary classes were given a few activity choices for a block of time in the afternoon. Some of our kindergarten students played turtle tag and freeze tag in the high school gym. The rest of our kindergarten students decided they wanted to have extra time on the playground. The gaga ball pit was a favorite for some while others kept Mr. Hanson busy throwing and kicking a football for them to catch and others loved being able to have more time to climb on the playground equipment. Additional pictures can be seen on the Turkey Valley Facebook page. Thank you to Mr. Rodgers, Mr. Gisleson, and Mr. Hanson for organizing the activities and thank you to the elementary teachers for flexibility with the afternoon schedule. #TVPride

Red Ribbon Week is October 26-30 - Today’s Fact is: Many vaping pods contain as much nicotine as an entire pack of traditional cigarettes. Vaping was initially thought of as a way to help quit smoking, but it actually makes a person even more addicted. Nicotine can rewire a teen's brain to crave more nicotine and can create addiction.Vaping means inhaling substances like formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and heavy metals (lead, nickel) which cause lung inflammation, wheezing, headaches, dizziness and chronic bronchitis symptoms, and reduced lung capacity. It is known though that vaping creates, what they call, “popcorn lung”. This scarring in the lungs cannot be reversed and can impact your life forever. All the long term effects of vaping aren’t even known yet. #TVPride

Red Ribbon Week is October 26-30 - Today’s Fact is: Youth who vape are nearly four times more likely to start smoking traditional cigarettes later on, and early nicotine use can prime the brain for addiction to other substances. Vapes do not produce harmless water vapor; they are an aerosol mix of nicotine and toxic chemicals. #TVPride
